Mumbai's Timeless Elephanta Caves: UNESCO Island Journey

Wonderful experience! The guide took very good care of us- the whole trip was very smooth. Be prepared to stay most of the day as there is a lot to see and the boat trip takes some time.

Amazing experience with Milind! Along with the toy train and cave tour, we got a chance to meet and personally talk to local villagers. The tour was very thorough, and it was amazing to witness the living history of Lord Shiva. One of the most unique experiences of Mumbai...highly recommended for the whole family!

I learned a lot about their culture and history. The structure how the cave was done was very intricate. The tourist guide that we had was great (Sir Sahil) and knows very well about their history and food. I enjoyed and loved our tour here and hope to see more of india.

Sahill is truly the BEST tour guide ever!!! From coordinating every little detail to becoming our unofficial group photographer/videographer, he did it all with the biggest smile. He even joined us for dinner—by the end of the day, it honestly felt like we were exploring Mumbai with a friend we’ve known forever. We laughed nonstop, saw so much, and never once felt like “just tourists.” 🌟❤️

This was a great tour. You get a private car & tour guild that will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the island. Once you arrive to the island you are greeted by another tour guide there who will show you around the caves.Each of these tour guides have been very great, personable & helpful. The tour guide on the island was very knowledgeable about the caves. The tour guide who picked us up was also very knowledgeable about the city when we asked him questions.

The trip to Elephanta with our guide from Magical Mumbai Tours, Marshall, was great. Our group, 3 adults and 2 kids, had a great time! We got picked up at the hotel by the driver and Marshall welcomed us at the Gateway. At the gateway and on the 1+ hour ride to the island he had lots of information to share and was very good with the kids. On the island itself a local guide took us up to the caves and we got a fully-fledged introduction to the history and culture of the caves/island. After the visit, got dropped off again at the hotel.

Sahil was so nice and accommodating. Full of energy! The tour was somehow “educational”, couldn't imagine how it was built 1500 years ago. I recommend to wear comfortable shoes for the 120-step uphill hike.
